At Blood Falls

Dec 1

Chris and I spent the morning packing the bot and ensuring that the bot got transported to Blood Falls safely. We flew in a helicopter to Blood Falls camp. The flight was about 35 minutes and the views were breathtaking. We reached Blood Falls at 3:30 p.m. and worked with the rest of the team to set up the tent for the bot platform. At first we did not have the scaffolding and Bill had to stand on the gantry to connect the tent poles at the top. The scaffolding arrived by helicopter and we managed to put up all the tent poles. It was very windy and we put up the top blanket with great difficulty. Finally, it became impossible to beat the wind, and we decided to call it off for the day.
