Discovery Hut

I went to Discovery Hut at Hut Point. The hut was built by Scott’s team in 1901, visited by by Shackleton’s 1908 expedition, Scott’s team in 1910-1914 expedition and again by Shackleton’s team in 1917. It is remarkably well-preserved and is only about 10 minutes walk from McMurdo.

Most of the team went to Cape Evans and Ice Caves. Vickie  and Bill were of course a little disappointed because the ice-caves were no caves in comparison to the caves they have been to during their caving expeditions. They saw a penguin who was apparently lost since it had no business being in that area this time of the year.

A Delta. Porbably the one taking some of the team to Ice Caves.
